Words cannot explain nor express what Sue (Grandma Sue) means to me.  It is  said Sometimes you meet people along the way, but when you meet a friend it definitely for life and that  was just what she was to me.

I will miss her dearly and always  have the memories.    The great poet Maya Angelou, "said, you will  forget what people did , but how they made you feel",
 Grandma Sue always advocated for right decisions regardless.
 Always in my heart ❤️. Until we meet again.

I met Sue in 1992, when her brother, Raymond, and I married.  However, it was in a later season of our lives that we became close friends.  We looked forward to  Sunday mornings when we could share the past week's events.  However,  it became much more than that.  While Sue became family, she also became one of my closest friends.
Sue had many memories of her childhood in the "Forks of the Creek."  Not only only could  she tell a good story , Sue could add color and  passion to it.  The same with her writing.  She definitely had a talent for putting words together on paper.
Although I am missing those wonderful  Sunday get-togethers, I am grateful for the memories I have and the loving relationship that developed between us.
To her dear family, whom I came to know through Sue's sharing them with me, I pray that God's presence be known among you during this time of grief.

I worked with Sue and loved her dearly.  She stood for everything good and right and did not hesitate to share her opinions.  I loved that.  I visited her last year and so glad for that time together.  My condolences to her family.  Tippy Amick

Sue McLain was never afraid to let you know where you stood.  She had a strong moral compass and was a quick defender for the just against an often-stronger unjust opponent. I know if young David in the Bible had been Sue McLain’s son, he would never have had the opportunity to sleigh Goliath for Sue would have gotten to him first. 

Sue loved people; all types, all kinds; all shapes and all sizes – red and yellow, black and white they were precious in her sight. Sue loved to laugh, tell stories with a message, and relive with you characters she met through the years that made an impression upon her.   Sue was one of those people, who would be a faithful friend to you, come see you in the hospital, and write you a word of encouragement when you were feeling down. She would stand up for you in your time of trouble and care little about any negative consequences that come her way for being in your corner. 

I know Sue loved her family greatly and as a single mom, I am sure she sacrificed beyond what words could adequately express for her children. I am sure each of her children would stand at the gates of the city today and call her blessed. I, among many, am so thankful to know this dear lady with beautiful grey hair and am blessed to call her my friend.   My heart and prayers go out to her family.

Some people leave a lasting impression and that was Sue. It seemed like she met life head on.  I admire a strong woman with resolve.  That is my memory of Sue.

I love Sue! She was a hoot to work with and  never let you know her thoughts but would tell you if needed! I wish I could be more like her,
Strong, outspoken, and LOVED by everyone!
