Shirley Jean Ford passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2025 with her loving daughter, Melissa at her side. A native of Tallahassee, Shirley served faithfully as a member Trinity United Methodist Church of Tallahassee. One of her favorite events was the annual Christmas Eve community fellowship dinner. Among many things, one of Shirley’s passions was quilting. She enjoyed traveling at home and abroad. She was a phenomenal cook and took pride in her culinary talents. She was a very lively person who delighted in entertaining guest. Shirley worked as a surgical technician for more than 30 years at major hospitals in both Miami and Tallahassee. Shirley was loved by her daughters, Melissa Steele and Lori Johnson. She adored her brother, Melvin Tolbert. She was especially fond of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of her nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held 12 Noon, Saturday September 20, 2025 at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park.
