Shirley Ann Schnorr Showalter, RN, Age 79, transitioned to her eternal resting place to meet her heavenly father in the early morning hours on June 9, 2021 after losing her battle with breast cancer. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 30, 1942 to George and Marion Schnorr.
After moving to Tallahassee and graduating from the nursing program at TCC, she worked at TMH and retired in 1988 when she married her husband and moved to Crestview, FL where he was assigned to Eglin Air Force Base.
Shirley was kind, caring and loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend. She had great passion for the Lord and was totally dedicated to her family and friends. She found much peace and contentment spending time at her beach, beautiful Mexico Beach. She had a passion for the love of nature and animals of all kinds, especially cats.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, George and Donald. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Harold Dean Showalter, daughter Karen Hunkiar (Robert), son Michael MacDonell (Cari), son Patrick Showalter and daughter Licia Showalter of Padova, Italy, grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Lindsey (Kameron) and Mickey. Great grandchildren Wicker and Brittany as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She touched the lives of many and will be missed by all. Heaven and all the angels will enjoy her spirit. She will be forever in our hearts and thoughts.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Susan B. Komen Foundation or Big Bend Hospice.
There will be a graveside service officiated by Pastor Bert Matlock, at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park on Timberlane Road on Saturday, June 12th at 10:00 AM for family and friends.
