Thomas W. Tolworthy

His passion in life was his family and the Boston Red Sox. A retired insurance sales executive, Tom moved to Tallahassee with his wife Kay in 1992. He was born on July 20, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York, to Thomas Albert and Eileen Tolworthy. After serving in the United States Army as a sergeant in Germany just after World War II, he attended Syracuse University and graduated with a B.A. in History in 1951; he married his college sweetheart, the former Katharine Gibson, on September 3, 1949.

He is survived by his wife Kay and four children: Kathie Donovan and her husband Edward, Thomas Albert Tolworthy and his wife Louise, Janet Orton and her husband Cliff, and Leslie Sobon and her husband Ted; his grandchildren Scott Donovan, Sandi Jensen, Thomas William Tolworthy, Kimberly Hohman, and Michael Donovan; and his great-grandchildren Justin and Alec Donovan, Caleb, Hailey, and Thomas Tolworthy, Layla and Rhianna Jensen, and Alexandria, Jacob and John Hohman.

A celebration of life service for Tom will be held at 10am EDT on Monday, June 14, at the Waukeenah United Methodist Church, 81 Methodist Church Road, in Monticello, Florida. Arrangements are under the care of Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home Riggins Road Chapel.
