He was a graduate of Western Michigan University, received a master's degree from Western Kentucky University, and was a doctoral candidate of Florida State University. Tim worked for many years in Leon and Jefferson Counties as a counselor and family therapist. He was employed by the Department of Community Affairs and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement before retiring in April of this year. He was a talented artist and sculptor who created many exquisitely abstract paper sculptures shown in various galleries and venues. He was a savvy traveler, visiting many of the world's greatest sites to appreciate the culture, art and architecture. As a volunteer docent at the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science, he conscientiously promoted the public appreciation of art, and was awarded their Volunteer of the Year in 2002. He was an enthusiastic supporter of FSU's outdoor sculpture collection, and as a determined citizen advocate to encourage the University to focus more attention and funding on the conservation-preservation of these important public works of art. He had a fondness for orphaned dogs, especially poodles, and helped place many of these foster dogs into loving homes. But above all, he was a gentle, well-loved man who will be sorely missed by all of those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Hilda Frazier and three sisters, Judy Claiborne of Tallahassee, Pat Fitch (Husband Floyd Fitch) of Pentwater, Michigan, Carole Swor (Husband Major Swor) of Fruitport, Michigan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science located at 350 S. Duval Street, Tallahassee, Florida, 32301-1711, or to Florida Poodle Rescue, P.O. Box 7336, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33734.
