Charmaine A.D. Chang passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4th 2025, held in the loving arms of her sisters, Jackie and Carol. Born on June 17, 1963 in Kingston, Jamaica, she was the longed for and first shared child of Claude and Daphne Chang. After spending 6 years in the care of her grandparents in Jamaica, Charmaine’s parents relocated her to Brooklyn, NY where she resided until she graduated college. Following college, she and her parents relocated to Broward County, Florida.
A graduate of Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Charmaine was highly qualified in all her endeavors. She worked with Broadway, Parker Playhouse, and Miami Fusion for many years. She became a licensed realtor and then a Broker Associate, working as a partner with her mother and then in her sister’s real estate company. Charmaine was a consummate professional who served her clients to the utmost and with the highest integrity. If you wanted the deal done right, she was the person for the job.
Charmaine was a natural athlete who played varsity volleyball and softball in high school. After moving to Florida, Charmaine took up tennis and was an avid and excellent player until her illness. She was a ranked USTA player who played on league teams, both ladies and mixed doubles leagues. She has been a benefactor of the Miami Open for many years.
She expressed her love for the people in her life with scrumptious baked goods at every holiday. Her baked goods even made it across the pond to the UK and down under to Australia when her sister, Carol lived there.
Charmaine loved to travel and could be found on an adventure to Rome, Costa Rica, France, Australia, many mainland US states, and most recently last summer to our favorite destination, Hawai’i.

To know Charmaine was to love her. Char or Charmo to some of us, CC to others, Chark to Deacon, or formally as Charmaine – either way you did not walk away without being showered with her loving care and attention. The tremendous void she has left behind is a testament to the wonderful contribution, love, caring and gift she has been to each and every person in her life. She will be deeply missed and forever honored and remembered with deepest love.
