He was a beloved uncle and I can remember as a child when he came to be with us in Port Maria and he would make us all laugh. He was a fun uncle who we will always remember with a funny story.

My parents Myrtle and Vernon Reese ( deceased 2020) and Uncle Ken Reese were very close friends of Bro Donald Hinds having all worked at WISCO Monymusk Clarendon. My send her condolences to all family and friends and may his soul "Rest In Peace and  light perpetual shine upon him in the Grand Lodge above". As a Brother Freemason he was a " builder" having been a founder of Cónclaves, and Chapters. I always enjoyed his wit and advice and will miss him.

Donovan and can only hope I am given the same care,compassion and devotion you showed/show to your parents during their there time of need! You are a wonderful son!

Tribute to my loving and caring father-in-law, Donald Bruce Hinds.
For my children you were grand-pa, but for me you were Mr. Hinds out of respect for you. I knew that you felt it was a bit formal for me to be calling you  ‘Mr.Hinds’ because I remember on one occasion you said, “Lisa! You can call me Dad instead of Mr.Hinds”. I smiled when you said it, because it meant a lot to me that you loved me as a daughter.
Your unconditional love to me and my two children, Dominic and Zori was an indication and part of my overall marital happiness with your son Nicholas.
You were there for us especially when Dominic struggled with illness in his early years and had to be back and forth in hospitals.
Visiting and spending quality time with you were special moments for my children. It was a pleasure to watch you playing with their ears, especially Zori and have them sit in your lap while you engage in conversation about school with them. It was hilarious to watch you eat Zori’s spicy chip snack that she would take for you on her visits.
I will miss your jokes and our one drink together.
As a father-in-law, father, and the only grand-pa that my children have ever known, your absence left a deep wound in our hearts. My children and I will cherish the moments we were able to create with you. It is sad to feel that you are no more with us on earth, but your love will be our peace and guide. Your love for us will bind us together as a family.
Sleep in peace Mr. Hinds, until we meet again.

There are not enough words to express the stalwart that “is” Donald Hinds, …Donny to some and Uncle Donny to others. For me he was my dads friend. Loyal and always present in our lives. I have nothing but fond memories from listening to “big people” conversations ..and hearing them share a laugh….to conversations on politics or the newest neighborhood happenings. He was present the days after my dad transitioned and in my mind I imagine them in heaven smiling down on us. Laughing, talking, reminiscing of times gone by and how much things have changed. But most of all I remember having comfort in knowing that if I were in Jago Heights. I was never alone. Because we had a neighbor who was a father and a true definition of extended family.  He remembered details and spoke fondly on how he came to formulate his children’s name at each birthday party.  You knew he loved them as he made his adoration for them, and their achievements clear. 
In sum he was a “great” man, a “loyal” friend, a “solid” member of the community and a “stalwart” of a Jamaican. “Walk Good” — Helen-Kaye Burke.
