Huntley Bonifed Restal was born to Fredrick and Evelyn Restal on February 17, 1933 in Manchester, Jamaica. He grew up among his brothers Roy, Hugh, Ken, and his sister, Beverly.
He attended Franklin Primary School and later went on to complete an apprenticeship for mechanics at Kingston Industrial Garage. Huntley proved himself to be very talented in his trade and became a Master Mechanic. After his apprenticeship, he was employed at Public Works in Kingston, Jamaica.
In 1962, Huntley migrated to London, England with his then spouse, Daisy, and was later joined by his mother and daughter. There, he attended trade school for automobile mechanics and continued working and enhancing his skills at Jackson Motor Works. In 1968, Huntley and his family migrated to The United States and resided in Queens, New York for several years. By this time, seasoned in his trade; he worked for Steven Lincoln Mercury.
Huntley met Joyce Nedd in 1981. In 1983, Huntley moved to Fort Lauderdale, and easily secured employment with Fort Lauderdale Lincoln Mercury, from where he would later retire after 12 years of service. In August, 1985, Huntley and Joyce were married. Since then, they maintained residence in Fort Lauderdale until his passing. Huntley loved life. During his life-time, he developed very strong relationships with the people he met, and as a result, had life-long friends. He was very generous, and in many cases, would diagnose and repair cars for acquaintances at no cost. He also enjoyed entertaining, and hosted many house parties. Apart from his mechanical prowess, Huntley also enjoyed fishing, and took fishing excursions with his grand-children, and buddies, most of whom he survived. All in all, because of his love for the ocean, he spent countless hours on the beach relaxing, and sun bathing.
Huntley survived his brothers Roy, Hugh and Ken. He leaves behind his wife Joyce, Sister Beverly, sons Hugh (Audrey) and Karl, daughter Janet (Milton) Restal-McGregor, step children Merlyn and Fitzpatrick Shawn. 29 grand -children including Janita (Richard), Kristina (Jeffrey), Alecia, Iyan, Immanuel, Maximilian, Leandra, Gregory, Noel, Sade, Isaiah, Sanaa and Shawn. 35 great-grand -children including Rianna, Richard Jacob, Jayson, Jenna, Michelle, Edward and Trevor, and brothers-in-law John, Prince and Fitzpatrick.
