A few lines in this program isn’t adequate enough to fully describe who No-No truly was during his time here on earth. No-No was an amazing; son, brother, uncle but most importantly he was a phenomenal, husband, father and grandfather; nevertheless he was a friend that one would wish for.
On Saturday February 28, 1959 the Dubreus family was blessed with a gift like no other. That gift was Innocent Dubreus, Birthed by Bridget and Paul Dubreus in Port-de-Paix, Haiti. Where he was nicknamed “No-No” from friends and loved ones. No-No had one sibling, his sister Celina Dubreus. From the moment of birth No-No was gifted with remarkable traits that allowed him to make unforgettable impressions on everyone that he encountered.
In his early years he left Haiti seeking freedom and a better lifestyle. He resided in the Bahamas for a short while before permanently relocating to America where he was educated and received his high school diploma from Miami Edison High School.
He later became a loving husband to Huguette & started a family & then became a father. Blessed with 6 children; 4 daughters; Kenesta “Keke”, Roselda ‘Dada”, Samantha “Mentha”, Tatiana (Deceased), and Melissa "Lisa "; along with a son Donaldsen “Ishmael”. He loved his wife and children unconditionally. No-No was a selfless family man who fought respectively & diligently to provide for his wife and children so that his children could have a better life than he did growing up. No-no showed his Family a significant amount of love. A love to his daughters that is hard to find and irreplaceable. A love to his son that is nourishing and rich. A love to his wife that is authentic & genuine. He gave love to his family and friends along with all those around him selflessly.
In 2011 he was blessed with becoming a grandfather and every year from there he was blessed with a new grandchild from there giving him a total of 8. He took great joy and pride in playing with them & teaching his grandchildren bible verses.
No-No loved the Lord & was faithful to his Savior. He lived for and prayed to God on a daily basis. He attended church service(s) as often as possible. He was full of hope and kept his head high despite of his health issues and despite the many trials and tribulations that he faced.
No-No was a genuine individual and a great friend. His character was described to be “one in a million”& even on a bad day interacting with No-No would uplift your spirits. He enjoyed putting smiles on everyone’s face. He was known for his humorous stories and jokes that he often shared with others for entertainment. Yes indeed he was known to be the life of the party. No-No was the kind of friend that would often call your phone without needing anything but simply to know if you and your loved ones were okay.
On April 8 2018 at 9:57 pm No-No bid his final farewell surrounded by his children & a few loved ones. From humble beginnings to a legacy of love, acceptance and faith. We will all remember this great man of god & we shall commemorate him because he loved & respected every life. We shall remain strong today for there was never a day Innocent had his hopes or head down before those who knew him.
