

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Noreen Norma Malcolm, a remarkable woman whose life was marked by unwavering dedication, profound love, and a passion for shaping the future through education. Noreen passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Born on May 10th, 1942, in the vibrant town of Hanover, Jamaica, Noreen grew up with an unshakeable love for learning and a deep desire to make a difference. Her journey in education began over five decades ago, and she dedicated nearly 50 years to nurturing young minds and guiding them with patience, wisdom, and compassion. As an educator, she was a beacon of hope and inspiration for countless students, always going above and beyond to ensure that they received the care and support they needed to flourish.
In addition to her lifelong commitment to education, Noreen was a devoted mother to Wayne (Nev) Forrest and Tavere (Paul) Johnson, a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, and a proud great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her love and guidance into each of them, leaving a lasting impact that will continue for generations to come.
Known for her kindness, generosity, honesty, and straightforward nature, Noreen was a woman of integrity and warmth. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of everyone around her with her loving spirit. She was a steadfast friend, a compassionate teacher, and a mother figure to many. Noreen’s academic journey was one of determination and perseverance, culminating in the achievement of a master’s degree in early childhood education. Her love for learning never ceased, and she instilled that same love in all those she encountered, showing them the value of knowledge and the importance of education as a lifelong pursuit.
Though she has left us physically, Noreen’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to education will live on in the hearts of her family and the many lives she impacted throughout her career.

A celebration of life will occur Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Bailey Memorial, 7801 Bailey Rd, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.
