To the family of  Paul Daley, his friends, and my fellow officers back home: I am speaking to you today from across the miles, but my heart is right there with you in Jamaica. In December 2013, at the Sangster Airport Police Station, I met a man who would become much more than a colleague. He was a partner in the truest sense of the word. From those first shifts, it was clear that Paul Daley didn't just 'do' the job—he lived the values of law and justice. Paul was a man of rare consistency. Whether the situation was calm or chaotic, he remained stern but fair, dedicated and unwavering. When we were promoted to Corporal together in December 2018, I watched him step into a leadership role that seemed written for him. As he rose to the rank of Sergeant, he didn’t just give orders; he orchestrated a culture of mentorship. He took the time to guide those around him, ensuring that every officer under his watch understood the weight and the honour of the badge. But Paul’s dedication didn’t end when he clocked out. He was a savvy businessman, a loyal friend, a devoted husband, and a loving father. In all his affairs, he conducted himself with the highest integrity and honesty. He was the ultimate family man, proving that a man of the law could also be a man of great heart.  Paul Daley has left us with a standard to live by. Because of his example, we are all better people. We must now pick up where he left off, striving for the excellence he taught us. To our fallen brother: Paul, your shift is over. You have stood the watch with honour. We will carry your standard forward with pride. Rest easy, Sergeant. We have the watch from here." To the family of Paul Roy Daley

 I knew Paul from the police academy in Jamaica—we were in the same squad (Squad 1), and later worked together at Sangster International Police Station.

Paul was a serious officer. Very disciplined, very firm, and always carried himself properly. He worked hard, moved up through the ranks, and he earned that. He believed in what he was doing.

At the same time, people who knew him knew he wasn’t just that. He had a lighter side too. He could laugh and joke, but when it was time to work, he was focused.

What stood out most to me was his love and drive to provide for his son and build something better. That meant a lot to him.

We had some good years working together, and I’m grateful for that.

I’ve known you since I was just a kid, and in the last two years, I really got to know you. Not just as my cousin’s husband, but as someone who became part of my everyday life. You were one of a kind. Full of principle, hard working, no nonsense, but still one of the most entertaining people in the room. One of my favorite memories will always be our kitchen debates. Politics, sports, music, anything. We could go on for hours, loud enough to annoy Marcine while she was trying to study or watch TV in the other room. Those moments will always make me smile. What I admired most about you was your strength. Even through everything, you kept going. Working, providing, staying hopeful. And seeing you grow in your faith and get baptized despite everything is something I will never forget. I will always remember how much you loved jerk chicken made on the grill, soup and my tacos, especially the shrimp ones. If you liked something, we would all made sure you had it. You were hardworking, strong, and you loved deeply, especially my cousin and your children. Even when you could not always do everything with them, it was clear how much they meant to you.

Rest easy, Paul. You fought hard, and you will always be remembered.

We were part of the elite  squad 1 ... I was cc and you did like  when  I made did the the roll call in the mornings...Rest up my bro.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Daley, he was a man of principle, standard and dignity.  He will forever be remembered as a stalwart and for his dedication which he selflessly served the people of Jamaica.

May your soul rest in peace, your light will for ever shine. You will be forever remembered as a disciplined no nonsense leader. Always neat and clean in appearance. Your memories live on. May your family find comfort at this difficult time resting in the arms of God.

Met Paul in 2014, we worked together at Sangster International Police Station. A firm and disciplined individual. Our friendship grew as colleagues, especially through his son who I grew so fund of. Even after leaving the location that we use to work together, our communication never stopped. He encouraged me to keep focus, take opportunities given and live life to my optimal. 
I will always and forever cherish the memories that we shared. 
I am grateful that I met him and we kept the connection.

I have known the late Paul Daley since 2013, though our friendship truly developed in 2018. Over the years, I came to know him not just as a colleague, but as a man of strength, discipline, and depth.

We worked together at Sangster International Police Station, where he served as a strict but principled supervisor. He believed in order, accountability, and respect. He stood firmly by his word, and his leadership commanded both respect and admiration. While some may have found him tough, I saw a man who genuinely wanted the best for those around him and for the work we carried out.

Beyond the uniform, Paul had a good heart. He was a devoted father who loved his son deeply. I remember  the many nights he would bring his son to work, ensuring he was close while still fulfilling his duties. In those moments, you could see his softer side—the care, the pride, and the love he carried as a father.

Paul was also a man of determination. I witnessed him pursue and achieve the goals he set for himself, never backing down from a challenge. He lived with purpose, and that is something that will always stand out to me.

Though he did not initially believe in the Creator, his journey led him to become a believer in the Most High God toward the end of his life. That transformation is something I deeply respect, and it brings me a sense of peace knowing where his faith ultimately rested.

Just before his passing, he came to Jamaica. I reached out to him, asking when we could link up, but he was busy at the time. Then I received a message on my phone that I will never forget:
“Youth, you can’t make me leave and we don’t link up. We have to find the time. Remember, you’re one of my real Gs for life.”

When I saw that message, something hit me deeply. Even as I write this now, it brings me to tears. I later went by his house to say my final goodbye.

His life left an impact on me and many others. His lessons, his strength, and his presence will not be forgotten.

My Paul, you were more than a brother-in-law; you were my brother. You’ve been in my life since I was 10 years old, helping me with my homework, giving me advice, and making me laugh with your silly self. You’re one of the most jovial people I’ve ever met, who is always optimistic, silly, and full of joy and love. You love to eat, dance, and join  me in my silliness, especially when it comes to annoying your wife, Marcine, but most of all, you love your family,  and your love for your children, Jayden and Arielle, will always be a guiding light that continues to shine, even beyond your presence—wrapped in every lesson you taught, every sacrifice you made, and every memory you created. It will live on in their strength, their kindness, and the way they love others. That kind of love never fades; it becomes a legacy, quietly shaping their lives each day. And though you are gone, there is not a day I don’t think about you or miss you. I am in awe of the way you fought, of the way you stayed optimistic and positive through this challenging journey, and I want to thank you for all the memories, joy, and laughter you’ve brought to my life. My classmates from basic school to primary this is so sad , you’re truly a humble soul  , you will be missed by many , condolences to the family and friends may your soul rest in peace.

We met through football. So we knew each before we moved to Mobay. We used to see each other through passing on a regular and we would always make the effort to share our lil chats. Our convos were normally based on how long either of us had been to trelawny, despite haven’t seen him for a while, we didn’t need to link because whenever we saw each other we would’ve catch up. He will definitely be missed. May his soul Rest In Peace.

I share a lot of memories with Paul and this is one of the many memories I will never forget. 
Paul and I migrating to America. We called each other Traveling Partners but he was so much more. He was my nephew in law, my church partner, shopping partner, my motivator and most of all he was my friend…one I could talk to about anything.

I will forever cherish the memories we shared.
