I had the pleasure of serving with Paul at NCTAMS PAC Hawaii.  He was a true brother in the mess.  He was out spoken, but truthful.  Not to mention he didnt the mess spend funds very ofetn, he kept that cash box sealed tight.  I am deeply saddened and grieve with the family, friends and shipmates that knew him.  Fair winds and following seas brother, We have the watch.

Devastated have no idea and so unfair over a year just finding out 😞.. We were stationed at NCTAMS PAC and Paul is the most open minded and honest person that i serve with.. I know for fact that Paul is the most opinionated in the Chief Mess and people would be around him because the honest and blunt personality some might not like him it because Paul will bring their true colors.  God bless you Paul and your Family we will miss you but will never forget!!!

My sincerest condolences for your loss.  I served with Paul in Hawaii.  He was a super good dude that loved his job.  We used to joke that the only time he smiled was when he was taking our money in the chiefs mess.  A tragic loss of a man gone too soon.

First I wanted to express my condolences. Paul was one heck of a guy who helped me navigate through some problems with our Sailors during our time together in Hawaii. He always had a way to make me laugh when ever I was in his office and always provided me some great advice. He was an amazing Chief that I enjoyed listening to during our time in the Mess together and had a great outlook on everything. Please know that your family is in our prayers.

For those of us who worked with him in the Department of Theatre Arts, Paul leaves behind an indelible memory at the University of Miami.  I had the pleasure, and honor, of working with him on a daily basis after I became the Interim Chair of the Department in the Fall of 2018.  I came soon to admire Paul’s intelligence and diligence, his determination in carrying out complicated tasks, his commitment to his role as office manager, and his military sense of duty in serving both colleagues and  students.  Paul treated me with extraordinary respect as his superior, but we both knew that I was the one who depended on him—to inform about polices, to analyze data, and to advise with timely comment and insight.  I will never forget the signature grin that he could not resist when "pulling one over" on his Chair.  Nor will I forget the sparkle that came to his eye at the mere mention of his wife and daughter.  To you Gina and  Chiara, and to those of you in Paul's parental and  extended family who are still grieving as the new year begins:  Please accept our heartfelt, deepest sympathy.  We will never fully know your pain.  But we do share in your loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Paul in the University of Miami Department of Theatre Arts for the past few years. With his mischievous and bright sense of humor, Paul often brought a beam of joy to my day. During transitions in our department, he was always professional and knowledgeable whenever I had a question about an administrative matter. Working with him, it was obvious that he had learned the value of teamwork and good humor from his time in service of the country. But what I will remember most about Paul is that he was extremely kind and sympathetic to me in the wake of my father's passing this past October. He remembered that I appreciate peace lilies, after I had chosen an arrangement that included one for a colleague after her mother passed over a year earlier... Paul was sure to include one in the arrangement the department sent to my home. I'll remain grateful to him for the kind words and expressions of sympathy he offered during a personally difficult time. Paul was a clever spirit and a very good man. My sincerest condolences to his family and close friends.

Offering my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Paul's family and friends. Our time as colleagues at the University was brief but in that short time he took me under his wing and was unbelievably supportive and encouraging. We shared stories of his new home, boating life and yes - even the in-laws. He is truly missed. "Catch ya later, Paul."  

Paul... always went above and beyond in his efforts to help me get through my first year at the University.   If he didn't know the answer to something, he didn't stop until he found it out.  He had an impish sense of humor (liked to play tricks on us!) and a cheerful "Good morning" each time he'd walk by my office.  Thank you to his family for sharing him with us.  Sending healing thoughts and energy.

I'm so very glad I had the opportunity to reconnect with Paul and Gina this past summer.  Two very special people.  Our deepest sympathy to my sister, Susan, Gina and Chiara.

My most recent memory of Paul was at my wedding in July. He and Gina made the trip from Florida to Indiana to be with my new husband, Ryan, and I on our big day. Having Paul and Gina there made the day so special to us, and I will forever be grateful for that time spent together. Ryan and I offer our deepest condolences to Gina, Chiara, Susan, and Colin.

  When we were Young  growing up in a small rural town of Colfax. Life was so simple. I looked up to my brother more than I ever let on. We had a good childhood. We picked on each other like brothers do, kept  each other secrets, and had a good life. As time went on, Life sent us in different directions. He served his country the better part of his life, honorably retiring from the Navy, something that I am very proud of. Love and miss you my brother my heart breaks for everyone that you held close. My deepest sympathies to your wife and daughter and our mother.

I remember Paul in 1973 at the house in Moss Side. He turned and looked back as he was leaving with a look that was full of mischief. A poignant memory.
Paul came to the states with his family in 1976. 
He made a good life for himself and his family. Served his country in the Navy and settled in Florida.
