My sincere condolences to Myrna and family.  I am so very sorry to hear about Uncle Alec's passing. He was one of the nicest men I ever met, a genuine, kind, and gentle giant. He was a wonderful and exemplary family man who was loved by all who met him. He always wore a smile, loved to laugh and I don't think that I ever heard him raise his voice in anger.  He will be sorely missed.  I pray for comfort for the family during this difficult time of bereavement.  May his soul rest in peace.

It is with a heavy heart that I note the sad passing of my dear friend, Alec G. Roberts, affectionately known as “Ricky Sands”.  My friendship with Alec dates back to 1961, at the time of the formation of the Targets Band, in which I was one of the founding members and Alec was a lead singer.  Alec was an amazing vocalist who thrilled thousands of Antiguans, leaving them in awe and with an inexhaustible desire to hear more and more of him.  Alec and I remained extremely close friends from the day we first met until the day of his passing.  He was truly an extraordinary person in so many respects.  In addition to his musical talents, he was endowed with formidable business skills which he put to excellent use while working as my colleague at Benjies, a family company.  Alec played a pivotal role in the formation and development of Boons Haven, a landmark condo development in Crosbies and was one of the most committed and reliable persons with whom I have had the pleasure of being associated.  He was a principled person, always setting himself high ideals.  He was also blessed with a warm, kind and caring heart that made him the exemplary family person he was.   His wife Myrna was the perfect person in his life and he loved and adored her.  She reciprocated with her deep, special and caring love for him that she continued to offer up to the last moments of his life.  Thanks, Myrna and condolences to you and to all the family.  May God grant Alec eternal rest.

I wish I had the right words to  properly express my thoughts about my good friend Alec. He touched so many lives and his loss will be felt deeply.
I have so many fond memories of Alec, will never forget the day we were playing football when he ran up to me laughing to try and kick the ball but broke my toe instead, even then all we did was to laugh about it even though I was in pain. I will always carry these simple senseless jokes that we laugh about often with me always.

Though I’ve never interacted with Alec personally, he is a person I’ve always seen and adored for his quiet and humble personality. I know his absence will be deeply felt by you and his entire family and all those he would have interacted with.

Myrna, may God grant you and the entire family circle comfort knowing he fought a good fight and is in a better place now resting in his eternal home.

I’d like to send my love and strength to my family. My experiences with Uncle Alec were brief and few but always warm and welcoming. May his memory live on and blessings continue to influence your lives even as his physical presence is not with us.

Mr Roberts (Alec) was a wonderful man and his presence will be dearly missed by those closest to him, especially his precious wife, Myrna (Mrs Roberts), his blessed son, Craig Roberts, and his surrounding family members that loved him so much.

He is in the precious arms of Jesus now, and his physical pains and sufferings are now over.

This time of memorial gatherings and of giving condolences should remind all of us "that time truly is short".

It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Alec (Ricky Sands) Roberts. I have known him since my childhood when he was one of the melodious voices in the Targets Band in Antigua. In my adult life I had the privilege of working with him at my family business Benjies Business Centre where we shared many wonderful memories . He was a true professional with an amazing sense of humor .Heartfelt condolences to my dearest best friend Myrna from my entire family.🙏May Almighty God continue to strengthen you. Alec and I have been friends since 1966 when we worked at Brown & Company and then at West Indies Oil Company in 1967.
He was a wonderful Manager and Leader of the Marketing Department.
He was loved by his staff and he carried himself with dignity.
Myrna, thank you for loving and caring for Alec these past years you have been together.

To my dear friend, Mrs. Myrna Roberts, may Yahweh continue to give you and your family the strength that you all are in need through this time of bereavement. Believe on Yahshua for he is our light  and salvation.
I get to know Mr Roberts when I came to work for you to help with your little son then, Mr.  Roberts was a fine man always smiling, and give good advice, with good communication,he said to me one day , Lucia , it you even have to live in America, two things to remember, 1) always listen for the weather report, 2) always have some money with you when you leave you leave the house. I have always kept these in my mind and did it, because I lived in america. 
Through the years I became as family, and I will always be as family. To Craig, I say be strong. I know how much you loved each other, and to the rest  of the family be courageous, for a wonderful person has went to sleep.
I will keep praying for you, and remember your love one with you too, my friend has to rest,

I loved visiting Myrna and Alec's home because ..."Antigua we come from!!!" Alec made sure his home was spic and span! Myrna's compassionate heart always gave her all. I feel blessed we are here together in Tampa to comfort each other.  Much love, Joycely  Dinard Carpenter.

I have known Alec way back since the days of the TARGETS Band practicing at my parents home on the Factory Road. Later on, when he joined the BENJIES Family Business, I observed how meticulous and organized he was in carrying out his duties. He had the “finest” handwriting I have ever seen. 
When I got ill in 2013, and had to relocate to the U.S., Alec called me regularly, and gave me valuable information and advice. He was really a person who cared  about others.
I will miss his sharing memories of yesteryears.

From my earliest memories…. My Uncle Alec was a tall super hero (not feared but respected) and the closest thing to my “Uncle Dad” in my college years (I wish we could joke about that time I banged your car into the hydrant😆 and you never told my Mom about it) …. He  has helped to  formulate  my portrait  of an ideal husband and a well groomed son (because of Uncle Alec - my son knows Sunday Mornings are for grooming) .  I take his humor with me …. Not a week goes by that I don’t use one of our famous phrases🤣….(I’ve sent a message to tell them to “full you up to your shirt with Angel fish).  These are living memories of a person I will always cherish and so he’s not dead just in my heart forever 💜….
