Simpson, Alexander (Sandy) James, 83 born October 22,1942 in Harrisburg, PA. and raised in Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully at home on February 8, 2026. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1960 then served his country in the US Marine Corps. The strength and honor of that service to his country stayed with him all his life.
He was a steady and guiding presence to all of us.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ninfa Anello Simpson. Together they have three children; His daughter, Kathryn Josephine Simpson of Homosassa, Fl. , daughter Victoria Lynn Simpson, who preceded him in death and son, Alexander Joseph Simpson of Tampa, FL. He was a loving grandfather to his 3 grandsons; Andrew Ian Torres & great grandson, Liam James Torres of Kemah, TX and grandson Lucas Anthony Torres of Lutz, FL.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa; with a prayer service taking place at 6pm.
A cemetery service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, February 13, at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, located at 4202 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610, United States.
