SPANTON, Alma Dyer, 95, of Tampa, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018. She was a native of Troy, NC and resided in Tampa since 1946. Alma was a member of St. Clement's Episcopal Church, the Episcopal Church Women, the Healing Order of St. Luke, a founding member of the St. Theresa Chapter of The Daughter's of The King, and a lay Eucharistic Minister. She retired from Verizon after working with the Peninsular Telephone Co. and their successors, GTE and Verizon and was a member of The Telephone Pioneers. Alma is survived by her children, William B. "Bill" Dyer, John Wesley Dyer (Abigail), and Edith Spanton McDermott; grandchildren, Heather Dyer Dykstra, Ian W. Dyer (Christie), Meredith McDermott, Andrea Young Vanderlut and Suzie Archibald; and great-grandchildren, Gray and Addison Dykstra, Wes, Eli and Luke Dyer.
