

She is survived by her daughters Leticia Ferlita, Celeste Ragano (Peter whom she loved as her Son) Her Pride & Joy Grandson Anthony Ragano Great Granddaughters Ella& Mia Ragano their Mother Jill Chazan. Also Sister Amalia Morgado, many loving nieces & nephews & great nieces & great nephews She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Sam M Ferlita, sister Celia Pidre.
Angeles Ferlita (sometimes referred to as Awesome Angie) had a big heart, and a beautiful spirit. She loved life, her family and friends. She accepted everyone with open heart which contributed to her unending generosity. A generosity that could be seen in her numerous contributions to her community for over 25 years.
Her Civic involvement included serving consecutive years as President of the Red Cross Angels, serving on the Board of the American Red Cross; Ybor City Chambers of Commerce; American Cancer Society of Tampa Bay; and Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay. She was also a member of The Chiselers; Tampa Republican Club and Professional Tampa Women's Club.
An Event Coordinator and planner for the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce Fiesta Day; The Event Char-person for the Red Cross Angels Fashion Show and Teas;and Silver Coffee Fundraisers; she co-chaired the Outback Bowl ladies luncheons; the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay Galas; the Celebration of Hope benefiting cancer awareness and the American Cancer Society of Tampa Bay.
She received the Tampa Bay Business Women of the Year Award for her contribution to improving her community. She was honored for her Civic Involvement and volunteer work in numerous Hispanic organizations over the years, and was named the Tampa Bay hispanic Women of the Year in 1992. In 2005 the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay named her Community Hero of the Year at the Kids City Gala.
Angeles was presented as one of 8 Women of Distinction at the 2008 Girl Scouts Women of Distinction Luncheon. When she was not serving on a Board or chairing an event she was a supporter of many Tampa Bay Associations.
Her contributions changed many lives. Angeles will be missed by many.
