It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Anne Rees Wilson on August 6, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on July 5, 1931, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, Anne lived a life filled with faith, service, and joy.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Anne found happiness in both the simple and active pleasures of life — tending her beloved garden, playing tennis, and giving generously of her time. For many years she was a dedicated volunteer with Meals on Wheels, bringing not only nourishment but companionship and warmth to those she served. As a long-time parishioner at her church, she nurtured her faith and built lasting relationships grounded in kindness and compassion.
She is survived by her two sons, John Hunter Wilson, Jr., and James Wilson, and her daughter, Margaret Rees Wilson Kafalas, who is married to John Kafalas. Margaret and John have two daughters, Gina and Angela. Angela is married to Braxton Heimbach, and they have a daughter, Madeline, Anne’s beloved great-granddaughter.
Anne’s legacy of love, generosity, and devotion will be remembered by all who knew her.
A visitation for Anne will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
