BJ was born on May 6, 1940, in Apopka, Florida, to Eugene and Mildred Collins and grew up in the Six Mile Creek Area of East Tampa with her three brothers and two sisters. She owned and managed various Bars & Lounges until her retirement in 2016 and was well known and well respected in the Tampa hospitality business community. In her earlier years, her time was devoted to running her businesses and raising her family. Later on in life, she traveled, became certified as a scuba diver, and became an avid golfer who was quite proud of the eagle that she shot on the 4th hole at Babe Zaharias. More recently, she enjoyed watching the Rays games with her husband and observing the songbirds at the feeder just outside of her window.
BJ was a truly beautiful, warmhearted, loving, and caring woman with a great sense of humor who cherished the time spent with her family. She was kind, caring, and generous. She was a friend to all and will be dearly missed by many.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Ernie Seal, her daughter Kathy Rigau, and sons Anthony (Tony) Nickless, Darby Nickless, William (Billy) Redmond, sister Jane Kirby, and grand children Michael Rigau, Ryan Rigau, Ashley May, William Redmond, Tabitha Redmond, Darby Nickless, Justin
Nickless, Jacob Nickless, Brantly Nickless, and her seven great-grandchildren, as well as many cousins, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lois, brothers Billy, Eugene, and Arnold, and, more recently, her beloved son-in-law Roger Rigau.
A memorial service is planned for July 20th from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Blount Curry Funeral Home at 3207 W. Bearss Avenue. You may call 813-968-2231 for more information.
