Catherine Casey Collins

COLLINS, Catherine T. (Casey), 87 of Zephyrhills, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Gulf Regional Hospice in Zephyrhills. She is survived by her three sons Joseph F. of Zephyrhills, Johnny M. of Palm Harbor, and Jeffrey A. of Zephyrhills and many nieces and nephews. Born in Detroit, Michigan Catherine worked for the Wayne County Road Commission and the City of Detroit Michigan prior to moving to Tampa Florida in 1961. She worked for Olsten Services for 18 years prior to retiring in 1986. After the passing of her husband Joseph Collins in 2004, she moved to Zephyrhills Florida from 2006 to 2015. Catherine Collins was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Catherine was a social bowler and played on leagues for many years with her husband. Special thanks to her oldest son Joseph F. who took care of “mom” for the last 17 years. A memorial service will be held 11AM on Monday September 28, 2015 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00AM - 11:00AM. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery Bushnell Florida on September 30, 2015 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
