

Christopher was born in Orlando, Florida, to Patricia Walker Summers and Joe W. Summers in August of 1966. He was a 1984 graduate of Chamberlain High School and continued his education at USF where he earned his BA and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering.
His engineering expertise was in the fields of HVAC, energy management, renewable energy, energy conservation, and building management systems. In the span of his career, he held key engineering positions such as Director of Operations, SE Regional Operations Manager, and Director of Engineering within a variety of engineering companies.
Chris was well known for his dedication to work and family, love for adventure, a passion to see the world, his curious nature, and mischievous sense of humor. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, fine dining, tennis, and attending his granddaughter’s soccer games. Family time was particularly important to Chris which was expressed in the way he constantly checked on his sister, Cindy, his dedication to taking care of his mother, Patricia, his scheduled restaurant excursions with his daughter, Megan, impromptu grandpa and granddaughter, Mayah, ice cream dates, and travels Colorado to hang out with his nephew, Adam. His next big adventure was to schedule a visit with his niece, Ashley, in New Zealand.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Joe W. Summers, in 2016.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Walker Summers; daughter, Megan C. Summers; granddaughter, Mayah Summers; sister, Cindy Summers Aponte; brother-in-law, David Aponte; niece, Ashley Aponte; and nephew, Adam Aponte.
Chris’s family will hold a celebration of life gathering at Maloney’s at 9540 W Linebaugh Ave Tampa, FL 33626, January 18th from 12pm – 3pm. In lieu of flowers, you can consider honoring Christopher’s memory by donating to the American Heart Association.
Chris, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, brother in-law and uncle, we love and miss you dearly.
