Born in Tampa on November 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Walter and Maude Johnson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Margaret Johnson. Clyde was a graduate of Hillsborough High School. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps.
He was a Veteran of World War II having fought in the Pacific theatre where he was in the landing party on the island of Iwo Jima. He also fought on other islands where he was wounded and awarded a Purple Heart.
After being honorably discharged from the military, Clyde went to work for Lykes Brothers Meat Packing Company. He was a faithful employee with them for 45 years the last 20 years as their Credit Manager in Plant City, Florida.
Clyde and Margaret had always been active members of their church wherever they lived and for the last 20 years had been members of the First Baptist Church of Brandon.
Clyde is survived by his three children: Bill (Joan), Ron (Susan) and Cheryl (Dan); five grandchildren, Rick (Heather), Brian (Jackie) Matt (Ciaira), Brandon (Trixie) and Brittany and numerous great-grandchildren.
