Connie moved with her parents to Tampa at the age of 15 and graduated from Jefferson Senior High School Tampa, Florida in 1948. She married the love of her life, George, right after graduation. She passed away from a broken heart just 6 weeks after he passed.
She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking large meals for family gatherings and holidays. Having her children and grandchildren around her was her greatest joy in life.
She was a very talented seamstress, crafts and ceramic artist, and was a master at crocheting and needlepoint. She loved making gifts for her family, friends and church members.
Connie went back to school at the age of 42 years old and earned her Nursing Degree. She spent her entire career at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Nursing was another one of her greatest joys. After she retired, she took ailing family members into her home to care for them in their final days. She was a person of great empathy, kindness and love.
Connie and her husband George loved traveling and enjoying life to the fullest. She was an active member of the Tampa Power Squadron “TAPS” in the late 1950’s and 1960’s. And she was a volunteer for Make-A-Wish Foundation in the 1990’s.
She will be loved and missed by all as she continues her journey through the gates of heaven back into the arms of her beloved George. We find comfort in knowing they are back together again and are with Christ our Lord and Savior. We know will see her again one day in glory.
