Dr Ford and I arrived at UT in August 1969.  He was my guidance counselor, mentor, and friend.  During my time at Tampa, I took Physical Chemistry with him.  As I was the only Chem Major, I was his only student.
  He was an excellent teacher.  Years later, I became the Chemistry Instructor at Beaver Valley Power Station, a nuclear plant in Shippingport, PA.  
  Without his mentorship, I would not have kept Chemistry as my major.  Dr Ford is remembered and missed.  God Speed.

I was stumbling through my phone and I saw this was very sorry to hear about your loss . He and I shared a great T.V.show together that we both enjoyed. He was a great guy.

David and Kenneth and I often played together at their rented farm at Hazelton Kansas when we were young kids.  The Ford family moved to Coffeyville while my family moved to Oregon so we lost contact for many years.  In recent years I was happy to find out that David had reached the pinnacle of his science career.  As a former military and commercial pilot, I was also glad to hear that David found an interest in aviation and received his private pilot's license.   My condolences to David's family.

I was a long-time colleague of Dave Ford at UT.  He was wise and kind, and a friend.  He and his dear wife Joyce welcomed newcomers and new ideas yet preserved traditions. Few professors relish administration, but Dave rose to the task.  In trying times he maintained sweet reason and good cheer.  His passing is hard to bear.  May the bright memories of his life comfort those who held him dear. 

David and I were the best of friends in our growing up years sharing many good times with our families, our friends, and each other.  He has always been and always will be as close as my heart. May God comfort Joyce, Jeffery and his family,and Sharon, as only He can do.

We were shocked and so sorry to hear about David's passing.  Have many fond memories of David and his family.  My thoughts, love and prayers are with Joyce, Jeffery and family and Sharon at this very sad time.

I was saddened to learn of David's passing. We went back to the 6th grade at Claymore Consolidated School together. Love and peace to his family.

My sincerest thoughts and prayers to all who cared for and loved Dr David Ford.  I knew and worked with him at the University of Tampa, first in the Division of Science and Math, and then when he served as Provost of the University.   A special treat for my teenage son , another friend and me was a short plane ride to Sarasota for lunch.   His kindness will not be forgotten.  I'm so sorry for your loss.   RIP
