Dennis Pitts, 77, of Tampa, FL, passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2026. Born and raised in Tampa, Dennis was rooted in the community that shaped him—its sunshine, simple pleasures, and the people he loved.
An U.S. Army veteran, Dennis carried the values of service, humility, and resilience throughout his life. He cherished the quiet comforts of a peaceful, simple routine—watching Wheel of Fortune game show, wrestling, and funny videos on TV, heading out for a day of errands, and savoring favorite treats like chocolate candies, seafood, and a good Italian sub. He enjoyed cooking and baking for his wife and family.
Dennis’s greatest blessing was his 42-year marriage to his beloved wife, Mei. Their bond was a testament to devotion, partnership, and enduring love. He embraced Mei’s daughters, Tina and Ellen, as his own—offering guidance and unwavering support. His generous heart gave deeply from what little he had, and he met life’s challenges with grace, sacrifice, and never a complaint.
Dennis will be remembered for his patience, his steady presence, and the quiet way he made life better for those around him. He leaves behind his wife Mei, his stepdaughters Tina and Ellen, his sisters Melita Coy and Sharon Taylor, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed him home: His mother Belle Britton, father Henry Pitts, his Sisters Patricia Ciccerallo, Pamela Jones, Sherry Minder, Heidi Britton, and brother James Britton.
A service and celebration of Dennis’s life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 Thonotosassa, FL. 33592
The family extends heartfelt thanks to those who supported Dennis and Mei with care and compassion.
