

She was born in Orange Park, FL and raised in St. Petersburg, FL. Her parents were Charles and Nellie (Richards) Raphun. Her three now deceased siblings included sister Elinor (James, Army) Whitehead, brothers WWII decorated ACE pilot Leland Raphun (AF) and WWII Gen. Eisenhower staffer, Charles Raphun (Army).
Longtime Tallahassee resident, Mrs. Butler was enrolled at FSCW [later FSU] where she met and married Army officer George K. LaShelle [producing two daughters, Dana (J Robert) Lane and (deceased) Carlee (Barry) Longman. Later she married Tallahassee resident Jack R. Butler (a now deceased ex-Marine and Florida State worker).
Mrs. Butler is survived by her older DAUGHTER, Dana (Lane).
SON-IN-LAWS: J Robert Lane and Barry Longman.
NIECES/NEPHEWS: Scott, Joel, “CR” (Jr.), Kim (Cole), Stephanie (Anderson), Sheryl (Laub), Shelley (Hillard),
GRAND CHILDREN: Cole, Clay, Colleen (Davis), and Ron, Christine (Haga)
GREAT GRAND CHILDREN: Ashley Lowery-Lane [re; Clay]; and Kelsie, Caden and Brogan [re: Colleen/Jim Davis].
She left a big hole in our family…God called her home and she will no longer suffer.
In her life Mrs. Butler lead an interesting and colorful life. She was a WWII singer with Big Band leader Tony Pastor; a Hollywood movie stand in; engaged to TV’s popular “Maverick” star, Jack Kelly; a Florida state worker; regional manager for department stores hat departments; real estate sales and eventually broker for Killearn properties. She also was a regional officer and national judge for the Hemerocallis (daylily) association.
