
“Ed” Edward Templeton, passed away May 19, 2023 at Oldsmar Health and Rehab Center. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mae and Harvey Templeton; sister, Brenda Hargroder; brother, Steven Templeton.
He retired as a MSgt, in 1980, after 20 years in USAF, including a tour in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand, during the Vietnam War.
He then worked at Reflectone and then CAE, with simulators for airplanes and helicopters. Ed was a Mason for 50 years, belonging to the Egypt Shrine, with the Provost Guard and Shrine Circus Office. Ed made many friends along the way. Ed would help neighbors with their projects and loaning them his tools. His hobbies were camping trips, fishing, boating, cooking, smoking meats, and restoring a 1964 Impala and a 1966 Mustang.
He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Marlys; son, Jeff Templeton; daughter, Kristin Lockard; granddaughter, Ashley Quigley; grandsons, Zach and AJ Templeton; sister, Esther Durham; brother, Bobby Templeton; great-granddaughters, Haidyn and Evy Quigley.
He was a member of Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church and then Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Many thanks to the nurses at St Joseph’s Hospital, the nurses at the Rehab Center, and the Burgundy Team of Suncoast Hospice.
