With profound sadness, the family of Frances Montes Del Rosal announces her passing on August 15, 2025, at the age of 75, following a long battle with dementia. A proud native of Ybor City, Tampa, she lived a life defined by love, strength, and quiet grace.
Frances was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother. Her greatest joy came from her family—especially her only child, son, Richard Travis Del Rosal; daughter-in-law, Dana Del Rosal; and the light of her life, her beloved granddaughter, Gracie Rose Del Rosal.
She shared a lifelong love with her husband, Richard (Biki) Del Rosal, which began in the 10th grade at Jefferson High School when they were just 15 years old. Their 56-year marriage was a testament to enduring love, patience, and unwavering support.
Frances built a meaningful career as a legal secretary at GTE, where she worked diligently until her retirement. She later returned to work as a secretary in the Hillsborough County School System’s Math Department, where she retired for a second time.
A deeply private person, Frances was known for her loyalty, generosity, and unwavering support for those she loved. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—from her love of animals to watching her granddaughter perform on stage as a competitive dancer. True to herself, she “always spoke her mind,” a quality that made her both honest and unforgettable.
Though her family mourns her loss deeply, they find comfort in knowing Frances is finally at peace—free from suffering and reunited with her beloved family members who passed before her: her grandmother, Georgina L. Martinez (“Old Cat”); her mother, Grace Pullara Montes (“Old Grace”); and her brother, Fredrick Montes Sr. (“Dabby”).
Special thanks to the nursing staff at Northdale Rehabilitation Center who cared for Frances in Room 99.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
