So sad to hear about Ivana's passing so young.  I met her at Alitalia when working for a travel agency.  I would spend at least a day  week there and although I was younger, I loved listening to the older girls talk about everything.  Ivana was a very kind and classy woman . I will always cherish the memories.  Rest in peace.

Dearest Rose… two sets of really close sisters met at a water aerobics class at the Y..,Instant connection.  Ivana, Rose, Debbie and Diane laughed at each other’s stories so hard we could barely understand each other…that  would make us laugh even harder!  We would call out to each other each time we saw you “Sister!”  One thing is for sure, we understood the warm hugs we parted with.  You will be forever remembered as the “beautiful Italian sisters”.  I also  remember  you telling me how you loved to dress Ivana up as a child to show her off..,forever sisters..,

Ivana was a great colleague at Alitalia Airlines, but most importantly a great friend. When I moved to Philadelphia she allowed me to stay at her house for few days while I was looking for an apartment. She hosted a surprise party for my husband when he turned fifty. She was generous, sincere, and a true friend, ready to assist if you needed anything. My husband and I bought her house when she moved to Florida so the few things that she left behind are constant reminder of her.
There are too many wonderful memories to list but she definitely made a difference in the lives of all of us who knew her. We will miss her for ever. May she rest in peace. We will keep Carlos, Lara and the whole family in our prayers during this difficult time.  Giovanna and Bill

Carlos, Lara and Family,

We are so heart broken by Ivana's passing. She was the epitome of a caring, selfless and joyful person....and my mother's best friend for good reason.  I personally always saw her as one of my aunts, even with no blood relation. 

Our families shared so many happy, fun and adventurous times together, and this is how I will always remember Ivana. That is what she has left for all of us. We loved her dearly and will miss her just as much. 

Our best to all of you in this time. No words can ever help with the pain, but always try to remember why that pain is so deep, only as deep as the love you all shared.

We love and miss you all, and are sorry not to be able to be with you for the service. All our best and please let us know anything we can do....

Dear Carlos, Lara, and the entire family,

What a gift I received when I met Ivana!   And that gift has continued for more than fifty years, always growing in quality and abundance. 

As true friends do, we have shared some of the best and most difficult moments of our life; foolishly, I thought Ivana would be by my side forever.

With words and by example, Ivana has touched in positive way my entire family, generating a lifelong chain of memories where kindness, generosity, wisdom, and humility reign. 

I feel privileged to have shared Ivana’s last hours as they gave me the opportunity to repeat my “grazie” for the honor of having known her and because she had called  me “friend”. 

Rest in peace, “cara amica mia”, knowing that, as nonchalantly as you did most things, your presence in this world has helped all of us to become better persons.

Dear Carlos, Lara, and Family,

It was 1969 when I first met Ivana.  It was 1970 when Carlos and Ivana drove to the steps of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC with a basket of sandwiches to feed a famished friend from Portugal.  It was 1973 when the two of you again drove up the NJ Turnpike to be my Best Man and my only ‘family’ when I married Anna.  Over the following many years, we were the fortunate recipients of Ivana’s friendship and warmth (and her five-star cooking).

As Carl Sagan never tired of saying, You Are Now Star Stuff.

Dear Carlos, Lara and family,

Ivana was such a wonderful and unique person, her word and her heart were golden.  I will always remember the 17 years we spent working together at Alitalia, she was the office genius, and best friend to all of us then.   I learned so much from Ivana, she was always a lady of class and grace.  It is sad that she is no longer in our visual world, but I know that she is out in the greater Universe,  she will remain as one of its brightest stars! Life changes but does not end.
