

BRADSHAW, James E. "Jim", age 92, of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Carmel, NY (where he was a member of St. James the Apostle Church for 54 years) and Wentzville, MO, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Jim was born October 14, 1929 in East St Louis, Illinois.
He spent his childhood in Wentzville, MO and attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY where he graduated in December 1951 with a B.S. degree in Marine Engineering and a commission into the Navy, starting as an ensign and rising to Lieutenant JG. He served for two years in the Navy and remained in the naval reserves until 1960.
Jim was a mechanical engineer working for various companies such as GE and Grumman during his long career. He owned his own business, Automated Control Systems, where he designed pump control panels for water systems. Long after most people retire, he continued working as a troubleshooter to fix water flow problems that occurred in many places in New York and the surrounding area. He was much sought after for his technical expertise.
Jim volunteered his time for over 25 years to the Boy Scouts as a scoutmaster and also as an outdoor chef, cooking over a fire for a crowd at scouting events. He enjoyed wood working, landscaping, gourmet cooking, fine dining, reading, and history. He was an avid bowler and served as Secretary/Treasurer for many years for different leagues. After moving to Tampa from New York in 2017, he enjoyed working on the newsletter for the community in which he lived, Aston Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Hill Bradshaw; and sisters, Betty Ann Bradfield and Julia Mae Jaeger.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Elaine Bradshaw; sons, Arthur Bradshaw and his wife, Claudine and Daniel Bradshaw and his wife, Diane; daughter, Karen Wolf and her husband, Cliff; grandchildren, David, Michelle, Brianne (Tony), Daniel (Lauren), Brian (Amy), Peter and Kaitlin (Chris); step grandchildren, Christi, Darci, Chad, and Katie; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 pm, Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Blount and Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, Temple Terrace. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Monday, April 11, 2022 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Temple Terrace. Interment with Military Honors at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
