

James (Jim) Howard Nichols, 71, passed away at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital in the afternoon of Friday, September 1, 2017, following various complications from his recent heart surgery. He was the oldest of six children. He graduated from Richwood High School in WV. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. After serving he earned his degree in Metallurgical Engineering at Western Michigan University. He moved to Tampa, Florida in the 80’s, where he worked as a salesman in the auto industry in Tampa for years. Jim felt deep pride and satisfaction in helping others making him a truly a great salesman. Jim enjoyed dancing which is how he met his partner, Linda. In his retirement he loved being outdoors, following sports, playing euchre, working crossword puzzles, and walking his beloved Scottie, Ellie, who was a large part of his life. You could always count on Jim to keep you informed on the most current events. Survivors include his partner of 29 years, Linda Parker, daughter, Maryanne Nichols, of Pittston, PA, son, Adam Nichols, of Reading, PA, siblings: Patsy Stambaugh [Ronald], of Richmond, KY; Phyllis Militello [Leonard], Venice, FL; Dale Nichols, of Fayetteville, WV; Debra Mastroeni [Brian] of Dearborn Heights, MI. Jim is also survived by his close family in Tampa. Predeceased in death are his mother, Bessie Nichols [Dickenson], Father, George Alvin Nichols, and brother, George A. Nichols Jim was a selfless person who put the wellbeing of others before his own. He will be greatly missed.
