September 1, 2010 – September 18, 2025
With broken hearts and immeasurable grief, we announce the passing of Jason James Licznerski, age 15, of Tampa, Florida, who left us far too soon on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Born on September 1, 2010, in New Britain, Connecticut, to the late Dagmara Trexler and Christopher Holland, Jason was a young man whose spirit and heart far exceeded his years. His brief time on this earth left a lasting imprint on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jason was one of the kindest souls you could ever meet—selfless, caring, gentle, and always polite. His quiet strength and genuine goodness radiated in every interaction. He had an extraordinary ability to make people feel seen, valued, and loved. Though just 15 years old, Jason lived with a depth of compassion and maturity that touched not only his immediate family but his friends, teachers, neighbors, and an extended circle of loved ones.
He had a passion for life’s simple joys. Jason loved video games, cooking, and sampling foods from around the world, especially ramen and hot wings, which were his favorites. He loved family days at amusement and water parks in Tampa and Orlando, laughing and making memories with his younger siblings. Recently, he had even begun going to the gym with his dad, a new tradition he was just beginning to enjoy.
Jason was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, a challenge he faced with quiet courage and without complaint. Even in hardship, he never allowed his spirit to be dimmed. Following the loss of his beloved mother, he stepped up with unwavering love and maturity—helping his stepfather care for his younger siblings, making time every day to be present with Mia and Jackson, and always giving of himself without being asked.
He was raised in his early years in Clemmons, North Carolina, surrounded by the love of his Maw Maw and Poppy, his father, and the warmth of extended family including his aunt and uncle, Drew and Heather, and his cousins Miia, Madeline, and Evan. His childhood was filled with the kind of love and guidance that helped shape the remarkable young man he became.
Jason’s absence leaves a space that can never be filled. He is survived by his devoted father, Christopher Holland, and his loving stepfather, Edward. He leaves behind four siblings: Truman, Lillian, Mia, and Jackson, who adored him beyond measure. He is also mourned by his Maw Maw, Tori, and Poppy, Bill; his grandmother Kasia; his grandfather’s Joseph and Dariusz; his great-grandmother Zofia; grandparents Trexler; and a wide and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was deeply loved by his community and classmates at Sickles High School in Tampa.
To know Jason was to love him. His light was undeniable, his impact immeasurable, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to walk beside him.
A service to celebrate Jason’s life will be held on Sunday, September 28th at Blount & Curry Funeral Home – Carrollwood, located at 3207 West Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM with the service following at 2:00 PM.
In honoring Jason’s life, may we all strive to live with the same kindness, strength, and selflessness that he so effortlessly gave the world.
