John was a graduate of King High School. He retired and was honorably discharged from the United States Airforce in 1988, achieving the rank of MSTG. He was a devout Christian and a member of the Mt. Laurel View Assembly of God in Mt. Pleasant Pennsylvania. John was passionate about faith and family, beloved son, Grandfather, father, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Paul Wheelus; mother, Lillian Browder-Wheelus. Survivors include his sister, Lillian Arlene (René) Llanes of Florida; children, John Paul (Leah) Wheelus III, Jenna (Jan) Mason, David Dillman, Danny (Jen) Dillman, Dawn Dillman; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Brendan, Logan, Maggie, Nora, Riley, John IV “Poppy”, and Benjamin, of Pennsylvania.
A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, Tampa, Florida. Interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
