Julia Emma Palomá was born in Cali, Colombia, a place that shaped her warmth, resilience, and strong, loving heart. At the age of twelve, she met Mario, the love of her life. Growing up on the same street, their connection deepened over their 57 years together, rooted in trust, devotion, and enduring love.
After marrying, Julia and Mario traveled to New York City for their honeymoon, never imagining it would mark the beginning of a new life. They eventually settled in Tampa, Florida, returning to Colombia only after receiving their U.S. citizenship while building their future together through determination, sacrifice, and hope.
Julia was a skilled seamstress who poured care and attention into every garment she touched, personalizing clothing and providing comfort and beauty for those around her. Her hands reflected the caring, generous, and purposeful nature of her heart. Those closest to her will always remember her home remedy teas, including garlic, lemon, ginger, essential oils, and various herbs.
She is survived by a loving husband of 57 years Mario Palomá; daughter, Sandra Grizzaffe; Son-in-law, Gregory Grizzaffe; Son, Alexander Palomá; Daughter-in-law, Luana Martucci de Palomá; and her beloved grandchildren: Ella Odegaard, Oslow Odegaard, Julia Odegaard, Sasha Palomá, and Lorena Palomá. Her life was defined by unwavering love for her family, quiet strength, and a reassuring presence to all who knew her.
