I remember playing hide and seek with Kent and Kazy, my cousins, in my back yard when we were young. Jane... Mike and I were very fond of you even though we didn't see you often enough.. I loved sitting with you and talking about your work and surgical things. I felt such an instant connection to you because of your warmth and friendliness. We enjoyed eating dinner with you both at Palm Coast Plaza in west Palm. We always admired you and talked about  what  and nice couple you were . We were so  sad to hear of the loss of your beloved husband and my cousin Kent. Like everyone here has said, he was such a good man. I am deeply saddened to learn of Kent's passing. He was an amazing person with a beautiful soul. I regret not being able to tell him how very dear he was to me, and how much I appreciated his kindness so long ago. Praying you are all surrounded by love and warm embraces during your time of healing.

I was saddened to learn of Kent's sudden passing.

I've known Kent since we were in the third grade together.  And though it has been years since I've seen him, my recollections of him have dominated my thoughts as of late.  

Kent always demonstrated impeccable character.  Even as a kid I admired his strong sense of discipline:  I recall how once, when filling in for two weeks on his newspaper delivery route, I struggled with the risk of upsetting his unblemished record of zero complaints.  And I have a bucket full of similar recollections.  He inspired in subtle fashion, exhibiting a consistent but quiet determination. Kent was a remarkably decent person, dependable, and a loyal friend to all.  He will be missed.  My thoughts are with his family.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of Kent.   Kent was one of those rare lifelong friends starting back in our childhood days together in the old West Palm neighborhood.  We were very honored to celebrate with Kent and Jane at their wedding as Best Man â€“ what a perfect couple and a great day it was!

Seeing each other (even if only once a year) always made for a great journey down memory lane.  Of course, hearing of Kent and Jane's annual excursions to marvelous destinations and adventures never ceased to amaze.

We were very much looking forward to seeing Kent during his anticipated visit with us to the mountains August 23 to hike and fish.   In memory of the great person and friend Kent was, we will "toss a line" and "blaze a trail" that day in his honor.

Nearly 35 years ago, I met Kent for the first time in the UF football equipment/training rooms as we worked together as student colleagues for the Gator Football program.  Kent and my family remained in contact over the many years since that first meeting and have shared many special times.  We attended each other's weddings, he was a frequent visitor after the birth of our first child, and we have had seats right next to each other for 30+ years in the Swamp.  Of course, when he met and married Jane she became a fixture with him at the pre-game tailgates and those long, hot days in the Swamp.  We always enjoyed reconnecting with Kent and Jane during the football seasons over the many years.  We especially enjoyed hearing about Kent and Jane's travels and adventures and always looked forward to their Christmas holiday card that usually shared one of their travel adventures during the past year.

Jane we are terribly saddened for your loss.  Kent was a great person and in all my conversations with him he was so grateful that you were his wife and partner in life.  Through this most difficult time, cherish the many fond times that you have been blessed to share with Kent and treasure those beautiful memories.

Gone far too soon, but not forgotten.  Rest in peace my friend.

I had the honor of working with Kent for many years.  He was a pleasure to work with and well regarded by all. I enjoyed our time together; lots of good times. I will always think of him fondly & celebrate his life. May the joy of memories bring moments of happiness during this painful time. With deepest sympathy.

My husband, Steve, and I met Jane and Kent on a ski trip several years ago.  We became fast friends and since then have skied together many times.  Kent was the one we relied on to actually read the ski map and get us where we wanted to go.  He was a great skier and we never could keep up with him.  Just this past year we shared a condo in Park City for a week.  It was a great trip.  We never imagined it would be our last with Kent.  Jane and Kent have become family to us.  Our hearts go out to Jane and his family.  We just can't believe he is gone.  He was a great person, a wonderful husband, and a really good friend.  We have many happy memories from all of our adventures.  We will him so much.  Our love and sympathy to Jane.

I echo Javier Lescano's sentiments.  I also met Kent 35 yrs ago at UF. We were roommates for 3 yrs.  He was one of nicest and most considerate guys that I have ever met.  He was also part of my wedding party.  He was truly one of the "good guys" that I had the pleasure of calling my friend.

My sincere condolences for the loss of Kent.
Words can not express my sadness on the loss of one of the hardest working guys in the business as a Gator Football Manager for the late Bud Fernandez.
 Kent worked hard and did a great job back in the late 70's and early 80's with Gator football.
Kent was a Quiet but Fun loving guy who was great to work with and always giving Full Effort daily.

Nearly 35 years ago this coming August I met Kent for the first time in the football equipment room at UF. Kent was smart, quiet and handsome, so much so that our boss at the time nicknamed him Clark Kent after the fictional Superman alter ego. What a perfect fit. Kent has been a good steady friend all of the years since. He was part of my wedding and I a part of his. We never had a cross word, nor did I ever hear him speak ill of anyone. He will be truly missed.

Jane, you were his perfect match. You guys always looked like you were still in love including in the heat and sweat of the SWAMP.
