Lindy "Dad McGowan" McGowan

McGowan, Lindy "Dad McGowan", 94, of Lutz, FL., went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 8, 2023. He was born in Canton, NC to Elsworth and Julia Weaver McGowan. Lindy proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict from 1953-1955. He married the love of his life, Jackie Snyder McGowan, on May 7, 1950 and treasured the 73 years they spent together. Through Ministry, he founded three Children's Homes in the State of Florida. There have been thousands of young people that came through the doors and because of the love of the Lord, they left changed. Lindy was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Jackie; daughters, Linda Puleo (Nick), Cindy Provenzano (John); grandchildren, Candice Berstein (Shaun), Andrea Khan, Nick Puleo, Christopher Puleo (Cristina); great-grandchildren, Colin, Cassidy, Gianna, Sophia, Avery, Scarlett and Lexi. The family will receive friends 10-11am on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Idlewild Baptist Church, 18333 Exciting Idlewild Blvd., Lutz, FL 33548 with a service to follow at 11am. Private family interment will take place immediatly following the service at the Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL., 33610.
