She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Luis Noriega.
She is survived by her daughters: Loida Noriega-Wilson (Ben), and Liana Martino (Philip); grandsons: Matthew Crossland (Erika), Elliott Wilson, and Nathan Martino; and great-grandson, Jakob Crossland.
Loli’s parents were immigrants from Asturias and Galicia, Spain. She was born and raised in Ybor City and loved sharing stories about growing up in Tampa and her days in Ybor with family and friends.
Loli loved her family deeply. She was especially close to her grandsons and enjoyed hearing about their academic and athletic accomplishments throughout their lives. She was thrilled to meet her great-grandson enjoying his visits, and especially seeing him walk.
She was an avid reader, reading over 150 books a year. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and cross-stitching in her spare time.
She worked for MetLife for 40 years until her retirement; remaining friends with many of her coworkers. She felt it was important to be a role model for her daughters to show that women could build close family relationships and have a career at the same time.
Education was important to her and in lieu of flowers, please make donations to TampaCatholicHighSchool.org (Giving-Donate Now for tuition assistance) In Memory of Lolita Noriega.
A graveside service for Lolita will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.gardenofmemoriestampa.com for the Noriega family.
