Carrion de Arce, Luz Elena, aged 96 and a resident of Lakeland, Florida, originally from Humacao, Puerto Rico, passed away on October 1st, 2025. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Maximino Arce, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa, Florida. Luz was predeceased by her husband, Maximino Arce, Jr., with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.
Her children affectionately called her "Mami," and her grandchildren referred to her as "Abuela." She is survived by her six children: Luz M. Rivera-Arce, Louis Alberto Rivera-Arce, Wilfredo Arce, Alexander Arce, Baldwin Arce, and Crisol Arce. Luz was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Luz was the devoted wife of a pastor who loved teaching Bible school. She had a passion for cooking, not only for her family but also for those in need. A collage graduate that applied her skills as a partner to her husband, Rev. Arce, at the Missionary Church of Christ in Defiance, Ohio. Luz was a loyal and true friend to all, with a lifelong mission to comfort the sick and help the elderly. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
