Ms. Mary Ruth Morrison Brodowski

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Mary Brodowski, 67, passed away peacefully in her sleep July 12, 2014. She is survived by her daughter Laura Seiverd and son-in-law John Seiverd, grandchildren Caleb and Katie Seiverd, and sisters, Wilma Morrison, Beverly Bailey, Katrina Morrison, Amanda Morrison, Janet Bush, and brother, Doug Betts. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 19,2014 at 11:00 am at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Florida. Lunch will be provided at the church following the service. Mary was born February 9, 1947 in Mount Sterling, Ohio. She loved writing in her school paper and spending time with her family. She began working in banking after high school and later retired from Suntrust Bank. After retirement, Mary went to Hillsborough Community College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming. She went back to work at Citigroup and then retired early due to multiple medical problems. Once again retired, Mary lived at home alone often taking in anyone who needed a place to live. As her health continued to decline, she moved to Emeritus at Northdale, an assisted living facility, in 2012. Once there, she quickly made friends and enjoyed all the prepared meals, shopping trips and BINGO games. Throughout her life, Mary loved watching old movies, listening to music (Englebert Humperdinck, Tom Jones), reading romance novels, watching baseball, shopping, and giving gifts-- especially for Christmas!
