

Born on October 1, 1955, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Jan was the cherished daughter of Bill and Jane Edwards of Henderson, Kentucky. She grew up alongside her siblings, Brucie, Johnny, Billy, and Becky, forming lifelong bonds rooted in family support and resilience.
On November 22, 1975, Jan married Joseph Marshburn, beginning a partnership filled with love, adventure, and shared ambitions that spanned nearly 50 years.
Jan pursued her education with unwavering determination, earning a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of South Florida (USF). She later achieved a Master's in Public Health and a Master's in Business Administration from USF, proudly completing her advanced degrees later in life while balancing a demanding career. She often shared her story to inspire others, emphasizing the value of continuous education and striving to be one's best.
Her professional journey was marked by a commitment to health and community service. Jan dedicated years to the clinical cancer care at Moffitt Cancer Center retiring as the Director of Affiliate Relations. Beyond retirement, she embraced new challenges by obtaining her real estate license and managing a portfolio of investment homes.
Jan lived her life guided by principles of ambition, health, and happiness. An avid reader, she found joy in tending to her orchids and plants, maintaining a rigorous workout routine, and competing in triathlons and Ball Room Dancing. Above all, she treasured time with her family and grandchildren, always ready to offer unwavering support to close and extended family members in times of need.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Marshburn; her children, Joseph and John and their wives Erin and Kristin; her grandchildren, Jack, Nina, and Blake; and her siblings, Brucie, Johnny, and Becky. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jane Edwards and brother Billy.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Jan's life, with details to be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to LifePath Hospice, Hope Children’s Home or Moffitt Cancer Center, organizations close to her heart and reflective of her lifelong dedication to fighting cancer.
Jan's legacy of kindness, perseverance, and family devotion will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
