Michael Gregory Ruiz Jr.

Michael was born in Miami, Florida to Michael Ruiz and Catherine Shipski on March 17, 1985. Michael attended elementary school in Ft. Myers and Tampa Fl. He attended middle and high school in Tampa, Fl.

He attended the College of Southern Nevada in 2008 and worked in the casino entertainment industry in Nevada. Mike enjoyed art, drawing, hiking, gaming and music. He also enjoyed the beach and spending time with his friends. Mike had a passion for cooking and contemplated buying a food truck. He had a good business mind with the ability to be effective and influential in any matter he put his mind to.

His biggest joy was the quality time he shared with his children with laughter, stories, and quiet moments that built a bond that will last a lifetime.

Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gregory Ruiz. Maternal grandmother, Mary Shipski and a paternal cousin, Andrew Ruiz.

Michael is survived by his four children: Gabriel, Tatiana, Jasmine and Isabella. Michael is also survived by two half-sisters, Giselle Ruiz and Alexandria Remmington. His father Michael Ruiz, Sr., his mother Catherine Shipski and his stepmother, Christine Ruiz.

Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618, US, on April 18, 2026, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618, US, on April 18, 2026, at 10:00 am.
