Abarbanel, Michael “Mickey” Gary, 69, of Lutz passed peacefully on February 14, 2015. He is survived by his wife Linda of 46 years; daughters, Shannon (Brent) Reynolds and Summer Abarbanel; son, Ryan Abarbanel; sister, Sandra Kuchin; grandchildren Garrett, Tyler, Makenzie and Dylen; and a host of extended family members and friends. Mickey started his baseball career as a left-handed pitcher with the Chicago White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds. He then went on to coach various baseball and softball teams for 37 years. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Life Path Hospice. A celebration of life will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, February 23, 2015 from the Carrollwood Chapel of Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. Friends may gather with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 5:30 PM until the start of the service at 6:30 PM. All arrangement are under the direction of Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel.
