Patty Gersitz

On June 12, 2023, Patricia Ann Gersitz passed away peacefully at age 69 after a long battle with dementia. Patricia was born in Queens, New York. She lived in Valley Stream for most of her life and then moved to Florida in 2006. She became a snowbird for many years until she permanently made Florida her home.

Patricia loved music. She loved to dance and sing along to her favorite 60s and 70s music. She enjoyed going to her children’s concerts when they were in the band or chorus. She would go to concerts with her sisters and have an amazing time together. She was the life of the party. Traveling on vacation was another favorite for Patty. She loved to travel with the family, especially to Disney. When she traveled, it was always a fun time with her sisters and all her nieces and nephews. A favorite place for our mom was to be the beach or the pool. She loved going there with her family. Sitting on the beach or going for walks was her favorite thing to do. Taking the dogs for a long walk was a must every day.

She was a loving grandmother to Gianna and Joseph. She would light up when hearing their voice and seeing them. She loved to play with them and sing songs with them.

Patricia is survived by her husband Gary, her two daughters, Christine Scalise and Denise Gersitz, and her son, Brian Gersitz. She also has two wonderful and loving grandchildren, Gianna Scalise and Joseph Scalise. Patricia is also survived by her two loving sisters, Janet DeMarsico and Elaine Krasnoff, along with her nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by her father, Louis Agagnina, her mother, Anna Agagnina, and her loving pets, Mugsley and Milo.

A memorial service will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa, June 17, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior.

A private interment will take place at a later date at Fresh Pond Crematory in Queens, New York.
