

Ruby Pettis was born in Lynn Haven, Florida on December 26, 1928 and went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. She will be joining her parents: Angus Rudd and Mary Ellen Haddock Rudd and two of her brothers Angus Elmo Rudd and Homer Rudd.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Herbert Pettis. Herbert and Ruby eloped on July 9, 1946 and recently celebrated their 73rd anniversary. She is also survived by her daughters, Glenda Haught, Myra Pettis; her son, Tim Pettis; her son-in-law Richard Haught; daughter-in-law, Donna Pettis; her four grandchildren: Nathan Pettis, Aaron Haught, Jordan Pettis and Philip Haught; seven great-grandchildren: Emery Haught, Eloise Haught, Sawyer Pettis, Eli Pettis, Ethan Pettis, Camber Pettis and Mya Pettis; and her siblings Hurtis Rudd, Dan Rudd and John Rudd. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she cherished.
Ruby was loving, strong and known for her ready smile. She was devoted to her faith and her family. Anyone who knew her, knew how much she also loved babies and children. She cared for many through the church nursery and by providing daycare to a number of children that she loved dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Blount and Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610 on Sunday, October 13, 2019. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with a service starting at 2:00 pm followed by burial.
