Sandra Lenore Cunningham

Cunningham, Sandra L. - Sandy, as she was known by her friends, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Sandy was born Feb. 8, 1946 in Northville, Michigan to Paul and Marjene Fielden. She married her childhood sweetheart, Dale L. Cunningham, on Feb. 11, 1967 and they shared years of love and family. Sandy is the mother of, Kenyon (Tina), Jason (Christy) Cunningham and Julie (Brian) Blackwell; grandmother of, Allura (Chris), Tim (Brittany), Briana, Addison, Jason Jr., Nathan, Amber, SamBob, and Wesley; great grandmother of, Evelyn, Lydia, and Ethan. She also leaves a sister, Susan (Mike) Prew; several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Paul and Marjene Fielden and her husband, Dale; and her best friend Bonnie.

Sandy was a 1993 graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg. Florida. A lifelong Girl Scout, Sandy served as the Training Director of Savannah Girl Scout Council from 1983-1986, and the Program Director of Girl Scouts of Suncoast Council in Tampa, Florida from 1987 - 2005. She served as a volunteer for the Boy Scout Council of Savannah for several years, receiving the coveted Silver Beaver Award for volunteering. She was an avid amateur genealogist and loved cross-stitching. Sandy also enjoyed writing and taught Life Story Writing in Brandon and Tampa, Florida. Sandy's greatest love was her family and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Girl Scouts of West Central Florida.

A Funeral Service for Sandra will take place at 2pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Lutz located at 18116 US Hwy 41. Lutz, FL. 33549. Family will receive friends one hour before starting at 1pm.

Sandra will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Florida National Cemetery privately.

A visitation for Sandra will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Lutz, 18116 US Hwy 41, Lutz, FL 33549, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
