Dr. Susan Urbanek Parks passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born February 26, 1952 in Lawrence, Kansas to Raymond "Ray" and Virginia Urbanek. She moved to Tampa in 1962 and remanded in the Carrollwood area until her death. She is a 1970 graduate of Chamberlain High School. She graduated from the University of South Florida, receiving her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in education. She spent over 30 years as a teacher and administrator in the Hillsborough County School System, retiring as principal of Bay Crest Elementary.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Parks of Tampa and Jay Parrish of El Dorado Hills, CA, her two granddaughters Parker and Palmer Parrish, and her sister Linda Urbanek Remsen of Pointe Verde, FL.
