Thomas “Tommy” Louis Futrell, passed away on February 8, 2019, at the age of 89. He was born in Orlando, FL. on November 17, 1929, to Maude Rhodes and William Futrell. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Martha E. Futrell, his daughter, Joy Diane Vasconi, his son, Tommy L. Futrell Jr., his son-in-law Fred Vasconi, his daughters-in-law Laila Butela and Bonnie Futrell, and his granddaughters, Pia Vasconi and Angel Martin.
Tommy was a Corporal in the United States Army from February 13, 1952 until February 12, 1954. He served with the United States Army Corps of Engineers in the 7th Engineer Brigade and the 862nd Combat Engineer SCARWAF Aviation Brigade. After his years of service, he became a minister and a contractor, owning Diversified Services and Pioneer Homes.
God gave Tommy an incredible mind full of creativity and knowledge. He had a true gift from God and could build anything and make it beautiful. In fact, he built his beautiful wife a home so that they could be married.
Tommy was a very generous and caring person, who would do anything for the ones he loved. He was the rock of the family and always made sure to take care of them. Tommy loved the Lord with all of his heart and that was reflected in his love for his family and friends.
