MILLER, William “Bill”, 74, of Tampa, passed away on July 24, 2017 surrounded by his family. Originally from Peekskill, New York, he has been a resident of Tampa for over 35 years. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Bill retired from IBM after a long career of 31 years. He was a parishioner at Saint Paul Catholic Church and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a heart for volunteer work involving veterans, working with Operation Helping Hand. Bill was also a devoted volunteer at Saint Joseph Hospital, where he helped with funding efforts, volunteer training, and served on the volunteer board. Bill brought fun and humor to the lives of his family, friends and everyone he touched through his volunteer work. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing pickle ball and reading action adventure novels. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Maureen; daughters, Tracey Gaertner (Nelton) and Sharon Mack (Phil); 5 grandchildren Kiely, Jack, Emily, Morgan and Ryan; and brothers Thomas Miller and Francis Miller. He was preceded in death by his brother James Miller. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30th from 6-8 PM, with a 7:30 prayer service at Blount and Curry FH Carrollwood (813) 968-2231. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, July 31st at 10 AM at Saint Paul Catholic Church.
