So so sorry for everyone’s loss. I have so many wonderful memories of preacher. Prayers and thoughts to all the family. He will be missed my so many.

Rita and family.  Your in my heart, knowing what your going through.  Please don't be a stranger.  Or I will come out to Plant City to find you. Preacher was the only preacher I've known. I once told him he couldn't die before me being the only preacher I've known. He told me he would have to lie anyway....

Preacher played a key role in all of my childhood, teenage years, young adult and in my own married life.  His counsel was  always ready with wisdom, truth and gentleness. How thankful I am to God, for Preacher to have influenced me and my family, and then my husband and I in our walk with the Lord and in this life. How empty it feels knowing that he is not here to answer our phone call and come counsel us when we need him. We wonder who we could possibly call on now. Preacher lead a simple life that has impacted simple people like us, and I thank him for that. Precious men like Preacher, with his wisdom and insight, are hard to come by today.  Thank you Lord for Preacher in our life. I only wish I had spent more time with him, and that I had told  him how much he meant to me and how much wisdom he imparted to us. I love you Preacher, thank you for being there for us always; me, my parents, my siblings, my friends, my marriage, my family, you have counseled us through it all. You will be one of the first ones I want to hug in Heaven after Jesus, I know I’ll have to get in line.

Billy Thacker was a Graham High School class of 1966 classmate and a teammate on various athletic teams. He was honest, loyal, hard working, and fair in everything he did. I understand that he was a faithful Christian pastor, family man, and friend in his adult life. I am sure that God has greeted him with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

I was a classmate of Billy at Graham and I remember him as being kind and friendly so it is no surprise to find that he became a pastor spreading the gospel for our Lord and Savior. There are really no words from except to replace the loss of someone you loved but take comfort that you will reunite with him someday.

I can still hear Brother Bill Thacker preaching in the ‘70’s at THCS, beseeching the youth in his Southern accent… “and do you know whyyyyy young people??! For God has promised in Jude 1:21
‘Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.’

My sincere condolences to your family on the loss of a great and Godly man no less a human, a driven leader, an endearing and enduring presence even all these decades later.

I was saddened to hear of Pastor Thacker’s passing. I had the privilege of knowing, and spending time, with him and his family many years ago. They are all extraordinary people, and I have nothing but fond memories of that time in my life. You all have my deepest condolences and sincerest sympathies.

Ms. Rita, I am so sorry to hear about Preacher. My heart breaks for you and your family as you go through this loss. I am praying for all of you and that God would give you peace and comfort during the days ahead. Lots of love and hugs.
