Zenaida Caridad Cartaya

Zenaida Caridad Cartaya, age 78, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Atrium Gardens Assisted Living Facility. Born June 12, 1946 in Santiago de Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Orestes Jose and Caridad Cartaya-Castro. She moved to Florida in 1959, worked as a secretary at a law office and then later at St Lawrence Catholic Church. Zenaida had a prayerful giving heart. She was an active part of prayer groups and praying the rosary. She helped the sick, fed the hungry, and assisted those in need. She selflessly put others before herself. She loved to dance and laugh.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, David Cartaya (10/2024).

She will be remembered and missed by her children, Edward Manuel (Martha Cordoba) Fabelo, MD, Zenaida Caridad Cartaya, Edith Maria Pucci nad Ana Maria (Peter Daniel) Fraga; her grandchildren, Zeni Alyssa (Davis) Freeman, Calyn Ryan Quinn, Nicholas Scott Quinn, Zachary Alexander Quinn, Christian Dario Giraldo, Tatum Kay Freeman, Quinn David Freeman, Olivia Marie Giraldo, Emily Grace Pucci, Anthony Fabelo, Alex Fabelo, Andres Fabelo; her sister, Carmen Cartaya.

A visitation for Zenaida will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33614, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A committal service will conclude at Garden of Memories Cemetery 4389 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
