

Doris was born on July 16, 1930, to Carl L. Tucker and Lillie E(Taylor) Tucker in Columbus, Texas, her mother passed after childbirth and Doris was taken in by an aunt, Mary Azalee (Tucker) Faulkenberry and her husband Tom, to be raised in Granger. She attended Granger school through her junior year and then her Senior year she moved to Houston to live with her sister Mildred Ham and family. Doris graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1948.
She married the “love of her life” William C Dickerson on August 28, 1948, in Wharton, Texas. They moved back to Granger to make a home and raise 2 children, Son Anthony Eugene (Gene) born in 1949 and daughter, Deborah Carol, born in 1953. Later Doris worked at Granger School from 1989 to 1995 as a teacher’s aide through the Green Thumb Program.
Doris was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Granger, serving as Financial Officer and Sunday School teacher among other duties.
She is survived by daughter, Deborah Dry and husband Darrel of Granger, grandson Keith Kaderka and wife Shelley of Georgetown and grand daughter, Amy Quebe and husband Joey of Rockdale and 4 precious great grandchildren, and daughter in law, Kimberly Dickerson of Granger.
Phil Hamline of Granger First Baptist Church will conduct the funeral service. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the University Village Assisted Living for their loving care and friendship the last 3 years of Doris’s life.
Pallbearers are Keith Kaderka, Joey Quebe, Gary Dickerson, Richard Dickerson, William Tonn and Toby Towery Honorary pallbearers are J. Will Quebe, Tillman Kaderka and Chapman Kaderka.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30th at 6pm – 8pm at Condra Funeral Home
Funeral Service will be on December 31st, 2025, at 10am at Condra Funeral Home with burial to follow at Granger City Cemetery. First Baptist Church in Granger will serve a meal to all family and friends.
